Privacy & Policy

In general, the law protects the confidentiality of all communications between a client and mental health care provider.  No information will be disclosed to anyone without your prior written permission. However, according to the law, there are exceptions to this rule.

Exceptions include:

Suspected child abuse or suspected dependant adult/elder abuse. The provider is required to immediately report this to the appropriate authorities.

If a client intends to harm himself/herself, the provider will make every effort to work with the individual, but additional measures may need to be taken to ensure the client's safety. If a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person, the provider is required to notify the police.
